Hepatitis B and C among ethnic minorities
Hepatitis B and hepatitis C are viruses which infect the liver. They can cause serious liver disease, including cirrhosis and cancer. These may occur decades after infection. Illness due to hepatitis is more common among ethnic minority groups than white groups in the UK.

The remit of the UK NSC is general population screening. This policy recommendation has therefore been archived because it investigates screening among specific ethnic minority groups.
