Vascular risk
A vascular disease is a disease that affects the blood vessels. This includes coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.

UK NSC screening recommendation
Although the UK NSC does not recommend screening for cardiovascular risk, it identified the need for a cardiovascular risk assessment programme. This became the NHS Health Check.
The UK NSC continues to make recommendations for specific cardiovascular health problems that affect older people.
